Last Friday was April 30th, that is the day we celebrate the birthday of our queen. This a tradition started in 1948, after queen Wilhelmina abducted and Juliana became our new queen. She was born on April 30th, 1909.

When queen Juliana abducted and Beatrix became queen , Beatrix did not change the day to celbrate her Birthday, even though her birtday is januari 31th. Tradition is that the royal family visit a province of the country and move freely amongst the citizens. This year it was the Province of Zeeland.
