Sambisari Temple is located at Sambisari village, Purwomartani, Kalasan, East of Jogjakarta. This temple was found accidentally by a farmer working with his hoe on his land in 1966. The temple dates from late in the ninth century and was buried by volcanic eruptions. It took 21 years to restore it to its former beauty. Sambisari has three statues: Agastya south, Ganesha east and Dewi Durga north.
